10047-90-2 Usage
General Description
Propan-2-yl N-methylcarbamate, also known as promecarb, is a chemical compound with the formula C6H13NO2. It is a carbamate insecticide used to control a wide range of pests in agricultural and horticultural crops. Promecarb works by inhibiting the activity of the enzyme acetylcholinesterase, which is necessary for proper nerve function in insects. This results in the accumulation of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, leading to paralysis and ultimately death in the targeted pests. While promecarb is effective in controlling pests, it is also toxic to humans and other non-target organisms, and therefore its use is regulated to minimize potential harm to the environment and human health.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 10047-90-2 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,0,0,4 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 10047-90:
(7*1)+(6*0)+(5*0)+(4*4)+(3*7)+(2*9)+(1*0)=62
62 % 10 = 2
So 10047-90-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Transesterification of alkyl carbamate to aryl carbamate : Effect of varying the alkyl group
Deshpande, Sunita R.,Likhite, Anjali P.,Rajappa, Srinivasachari
, p. 10367 - 10370 (1994)
Phosphorus oxychloride mediated transesterification of four alkyl N-methylcarbamates to several aryl N-methylcarbamates has been studied. Best yields are obtained from benzyl N-methylcarbamate.
