10169-12-7 Usage

Description

Acid blue 117 (C.I. 17055) is a synthetic dye characterized by its red light navy blue color. It is soluble in water, resulting in a deep purple hue, and in ethanol, where it appears as a violet blue shade. When mixed with strong sulfuric acid, it turns yellow brown, but upon dilution, it reverts to purple. The addition of a strong hydrochloric acid solution results in a dark purple color, while the introduction of a thick sodium hydroxide solution turns it blue.

Uses

Used in Textile Industry:
Acid blue 117 (C.I. 17055) is used as a dye for coloring fabrics. Its ability to produce a deep purple color in water and a violet blue shade in ethanol makes it a versatile choice for various textile applications.
Used in Color Fastness Testing:
Acid blue 117 (C.I. 17055) is utilized in the evaluation of color fastness properties in textiles. It helps determine the resistance of dyed fabrics to light, soaping, perspiration, oxygen bleaching, and seawater, ensuring the durability and longevity of colored textiles.
Standard Fastness Ratings:
The fastness properties of Acid blue 117 (C.I. 17055) are rated according to ISO and AATCC standards, which provide a benchmark for its performance in various conditions:
Light Fastness: ISO 5, AATCC 4
Soaping Fastness: ISO 3, AATCC 2-3
Perspiration Fastness: ISO 2-3, AATCC 2-3
Oxygen Bleaching: ISO 3, AATCC 3-4
Fastness to Seawater: ISO 1, AATCC 1
These ratings indicate the dye's performance in maintaining its color under different conditions, making it a valuable tool for the textile industry in selecting appropriate dyes for specific applications.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 10169-12-7 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,0,1,6 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 10169-12:
(7*1)+(6*0)+(5*1)+(4*6)+(3*9)+(2*1)+(1*2)=67
67 % 10 = 7
So 10169-12-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
