Description
Sodium 4-[[4-[benzyl(ethyl)amino]phenyl]azo]-2,5-dichlorobenzenesulphonate is a red light orange powder that is soluble in water, but not in ethanol or glycol ether. It is a strong sulfuric acid dye that produces a deep blue light green color when diluted, and turns brown upon precipitation. In nitric acid solution, it exhibits an olive color that turns to green light amber. Its water solution is brown, and when strong hydrochloric acid is added, it turns blu-ray black with precipitation. However, when thick sodium hydroxide solution is added, the color and lustre remain unchanged.

Used in Textile Industry:
