Description

Lithium cobalt(III) oxide, also known as lithium cobalt oxide, is a dark gray powder with a crystalline structure characterized by a=0.2817nm and c=1.4059 nm. It is a critical substance in the development of high-performance, advanced batteries and has been enhanced for energy efficiency. Lithium cobalt(iii) oxide can be synthesized by reacting Li2CO3 or LiOH·H2O with CoCO3 at temperatures between 850°C and 900°C for 24 hours in air. It possesses the fluxing properties of lithium oxide and enhances adhesion similar to cobalt oxide.
