General Description
2-Methyl-6-nitroimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine (MNIP) is a synthetic nitroimidazole compound, known for its mutagenic and carcinogenic properties. As a potent mutagen, it has the ability to alter the genetic material of an organism, causing mutations. It is of significant interest in scientific research due to these characteristics. The imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine structure is commonly found in various biologically active substances and pharmaceuticals, making MNIP a crucial subject of study to understand the associated potential health risks.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 13212-83-4 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,3,2,1 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 13212-83:
(7*1)+(6*3)+(5*2)+(4*1)+(3*2)+(2*8)+(1*3)=64
64 % 10 = 4
So 13212-83-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

A novel, rapid and efficient route to imidazo[1,2-a]pyridines under ambient, aqueous and metal-free conditions is reported. The NaOH-promoted cycloisomerisations of N-propargylpyridiniums give quantitative yield in a few minutes (10 g scale). A comparison of common green metrics to current routes showed clear improvements, with at least a one order of magnitude increase in space-time-yield.
