A few complexes of V(IV,V), Zr(IV), Nb(V), Mo(VI) and W(VI) with 1-substituted tetrazoline-5-thione have been synthesised and characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, conductance measurements, IR and UV/visible spectral studies. The phenyl, m-tolyl, p-tolyl and p-chlorophenyl derivatives of 1-substituted tetrazoline-5-thione are coordinated through thione tautomeric form with VO2+, MoO22+, WO22+, and ZrO2+ species but interact with thiol form in case of Nb5+ and Ta5+ resulting in the deprotonation of thiol hydrogen atom. The metal ligand vibrations in the far infrared spectra of complexes have also been examined.
