Description
N-OMEGA-HYDROXY-NOR-L-ARGININE, DIACETATE SALT, also known as nor-NOHA, is a potent, selective, competitive, and high affinity inhibitor of arginase. It has been shown to inhibit arginase from rat liver (IC50 = 2 μM) and mouse macrophages (IC50 = 50 μM). Nor-NOHA specifically interacts with the manganese-cluster of the enzyme active site and does not function as a substrate or as an inhibitor for NOS (Nitric Oxide Synthase). As a result, nor-NOHA may be a useful tool for studying the interplays between arginase and NOS. It is an off-white powder in its chemical form.
Uses
Used in Research Applications:
N-OMEGA-HYDROXY-NOR-L-ARGININE, DIACETATE SALT is used as a research tool for studying the interactions between arginase and NOS, as it selectively inhibits arginase without affecting NOS activity. This selective inhibition allows researchers to investigate the roles of these enzymes in various biological processes and diseases.
Used in Pharmaceutical Development:
In the pharmaceutical industry, N-OMEGA-HYDROXY-NOR-L-ARGININE, DIACETATE SALT is used as a potential therapeutic agent for conditions related to arginase dysregulation. By inhibiting arginase, nor-NOHA may help in the development of treatments for diseases where arginase activity is a contributing factor.
Used in Drug Delivery Systems:
Similar to gallotannin, nor-NOHA could potentially be incorporated into drug delivery systems to improve its bioavailability and therapeutic outcomes. These systems could be designed to target specific tissues or cells where arginase inhibition is desired, enhancing the efficacy and safety of treatments.
Used in Diagnostic Applications:
N-OMEGA-HYDROXY-NOR-L-ARGININE, DIACETATE SALT may also be used in the development of diagnostic tools to measure arginase activity in biological samples. This could help in the identification of individuals with conditions related to arginase dysregulation and guide personalized treatment strategies.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 189302-40-7 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,8,9,3,0 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 189302-40:
(8*1)+(7*8)+(6*9)+(5*3)+(4*0)+(3*2)+(2*4)+(1*0)=147
147 % 10 = 7
So 189302-40-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
