General Description
Phosphorous acid, diethyl methyl ester is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C5H13O3P. It is a colorless liquid with a fruity odor and is primarily used as a pesticide and insecticide. It is highly toxic and can cause skin and eye irritation, as well as respiratory and digestive tract problems if ingested or inhaled. It is also known to be corrosive to metals and may react violently with water or oxidizing agents. Due to its potential hazards, proper precautions and safety measures should be taken when handling and using phosphorous acid, diethyl methyl ester.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 20502-41-4 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 2,0,5,0 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 20502-41:
(7*2)+(6*0)+(5*5)+(4*0)+(3*2)+(2*4)+(1*1)=54
54 % 10 = 4
So 20502-41-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

The synthesis of tervalent phosphorus esters continues to be a significant area of interest, much of it again directed toward the synthesis of phosphite ligands for metal-catalyzed reactions. Typically, they were obtained through esterification of the corresponding phosphorus chlorides with the appropriate alcohols in the presence of an amine. In this paper, we present a new method for the synthesis of tervalent phosphorus esters, not yet mentioned in the literature, when potassium phosphate, as a unique base, is used in liquid-solid system. Symmetrical and unsymmetrical phosphites were obtained with good yields (65%-80%) using this method. The compounds were characterized by 31P NMR spectroscopy.
