Description
2-Methylallylamine, also known as 2-Methyl-2-propen-1-amine, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C4H9N. It is a clear colorless liquid and serves as an important intermediate in the synthesis of various pharmaceutical compounds.
Uses
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
2-Methylallylamine is used as an intermediate for the synthesis of urea-containing FK506 binding protein inhibitors. These inhibitors play a crucial role in modulating the immune system and have applications in treating autoimmune diseases and preventing organ transplant rejection.
Additionally, 2-Methylallylamine is used to prepare benzothiazepine dioxides, which exhibit HIV-1 protease inhibitory activities. These compounds are essential in the development of antiretroviral drugs for the treatment of HIV/AIDS.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 2878-14-0 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 2,8,7 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 2878-14:
(6*2)+(5*8)+(4*7)+(3*8)+(2*1)+(1*4)=110
110 % 10 = 0
So 2878-14-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

A facile approach to α,β-unsaturated lactams by ring-closing metathesis
Gondal, Humaira Yasmeen,Buisson, Didier
, p. 183 - 191 (2016/07/28)
[MediaObject not available: see fulltext.]A facile and efficient strategy for the synthesis of α,β-unsaturated lactams through ring-closing metathesis of easily prepared diene amides is being reported here. Reaction conditions were optimized for metathetic cyclization of diene amides to obtain five- to sevenmembered unsubstituted and β-substituted α,β-unsaturated lactams in good to excellent yield.
