Description

Mikamycin B, also known as Pristinamycin IIA or Virginiamycin M1-V673810, is a cyclodepsipeptide antibiotic that is one of the two major components of Pristinamycin, along with Pristinamycin IA. It is produced by Streptomyces pristinaespiralis and exhibits bactericidal activity against Gram-positive organisms, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.

Mikamycin B is used as an antibiotic for the treatment of bacterial infections, particularly those caused by Gram-positive organisms such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
