Description
Budralazine, also known by its brand name BUTERAZINE, is an antihypertensive agent that belongs to the class of direct-acting vasodilators. It is structurally related to hydralazine but is somewhat less potent and is known to produce less tachycardia, making it a preferred choice for certain patients.
Uses
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
Budralazine is used as an antihypertensive agent for the treatment of hypertension. It functions as a direct-acting vasodilator, which means it helps to widen the blood vessels, allowing for better blood flow and reduced pressure on the heart and arterial walls.
Used in Cardiovascular Applications:
In the field of cardiology, Budralazine is utilized to manage high blood pressure and related cardiovascular conditions. Its vasodilating properties contribute to the regulation of blood pressure and the prevention of potential complications associated with hypertension, such as heart attacks, strokes, and kidney damage.
Used in Combination Therapy:
Budralazine is also used in combination with other antihypertensive medications to enhance the overall effectiveness of treatment. This combination approach can help achieve better control of blood pressure and reduce the risk of side effects associated with higher doses of individual medications.
Manufacturing Process
A mixture of 2.0 g of 1-hydrazinophthalazine hydrochloride, 1.1 g of mesityl
oxide (isoproplyideneacetone) and 100 ml of ethanol, was refluxed for 3
hours. The reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo and the residue was dissolved in water. The water solution was neutralized with sodium
bicarbonate, salted out and the product was extracted with benzene. The
benzene layer was passed through a comparatively short column of alumina
and the solvent was removed. The residue was crystallized from ether to give
0.7 g of 1-(1,3-dimethyl-2-butenylidene) hydrazinophthalazine, melting point
131°-132°C.
Therapeutic Function
Antihypertensive
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 36798-79-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 3,6,7,9 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 36798-79:
(7*3)+(6*6)+(5*7)+(4*9)+(3*8)+(2*7)+(1*9)=175
175 % 10 = 5
So 36798-79-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
