4403-89-8 Usage
Description
SOLWAY BLUE RN is a dark blue powder that is soluble in ethanol, o-chlorophenol, and slightly soluble in acetone and pyridine. It is insoluble in chloroform and toluene. When it comes into contact with strong sulfuric acid, it turns purple. SOLWAY BLUE RN is used for dyeing wool, silk, polyamide fiber, and wool blends. It can also be used directly for printing on wool, silk, and polyamide fiber fabrics. Additionally, it is utilized in the coloring of leather, paper, soap, and wood. SOLWAY BLUE RN can be combined with C.I.Acid Green 50 to create Acid Blue BGA.

Purification Methods
Purify the dye by salting out an aqueous solution three times with sodium acetate, followed by repeated extraction with EtOH [McGrew & Schneider J Am Chem Soc 72 2547 1950]. [Beilstein 14 H 706, 725.]
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 4403-89-8 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 4,4,0 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 4403-89:
(6*4)+(5*4)+(4*0)+(3*3)+(2*8)+(1*9)=78
78 % 10 = 8
So 4403-89-8 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
