51050-59-0 Usage

Description

3,4-Dichloroisocoumarin (3,4-DCI) is a serine protease inhibitor with a wide range of applications in various fields. It is known for its ability to completely inhibit the enzyme activity of 24 serine proteases, including human leukocyte elastase, thrombin, plasmin, Factor Xa, and Factor XIIa in vitro. Additionally, 3,4-DCI stimulates the caseinolytic activity of the bovine pituitary multicatalytic proteinase complex (MPC) by inducing a conformational change that exposes the caseinolytic active site. This property has been utilized to functionally characterize the catalytic activities of multiple proteases, such as rat liver MPC and extracellular lipase.

Uses

Used in Biomedical Research:
3,4-Dichloroisocoumarin is used as a research tool for studying the function and regulation of serine proteases. Its ability to inhibit a wide range of these enzymes makes it a valuable compound for investigating their roles in various biological processes and diseases.
Used in Rapid Staining Methods:
3,4-Dichloroisocoumarin is used as a component in a rapid staining method for the identification of macrophages. This method allows for the quick and accurate counting of macrophages, which can be confirmed by more complex morphological criteria, phagocytosis, and the presence of Fc receptors.
Used as an Inhibitor:
3,4-Dichloroisocoumarin is used as an inhibitor of various proteases, including chymotrypsin, trypsin, granzymes A, B, and H, cathepsin G, and neutrophil elastase. Its inhibitory properties make it a useful compound for studying the roles of these proteases in biological processes and for developing potential therapeutic agents.
Used in Apoptosis Research:
3,4-Dichloroisocoumarin is used in the study of apoptosis, as it blocks internucleosomal DNA cleavage in thymocytes without the involvement of endonucleases. This property makes it a valuable tool for investigating the mechanisms of apoptosis and the role of proteases in this process.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 51050-59-0 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 5,1,0,5 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 51050-59:
(7*5)+(6*1)+(5*0)+(4*5)+(3*0)+(2*5)+(1*9)=80
80 % 10 = 0
So 51050-59-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
