General Description

1-methyl-2H-pyrido[2,3-d][1,3]oxazine-2,4(1H)-dione is a chemical compound with a heterocyclic structure. It is also known as amobarbital, which is a barbiturate derivative and a sedative-hypnotic drug. It is used medically as a sedative, hypnotic, and pre-anesthetic medication, and is also occasionally prescribed for the treatment of epilepsy. Amobarbital works by enhancing the activity of the neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the brain, which results in its sedative effects.
