Description

CHITOBIOSE DIHYDROCHLORIDE is a chemical compound derived from chitosan, a deacetylated form of chitin, which is a naturally occurring polymer found in the exoskeleton of crustaceans and the cell walls of fungi. It is a disaccharide consisting of two N-acetyl-D-glucosamine units linked together. CHITOBIOSE DIHYDROCHLORIDE possesses unique chemical properties, such as being the reducing terminal of N-linked oligosaccharides, acting as a lectin inhibitor, and serving as a substrate for lysozyme.

Uses

Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
CHITOBIOSE DIHYDROCHLORIDE is used as a therapeutic agent for various applications due to its unique chemical properties. It acts as a reducing terminal of N-linked oligosaccharides, which are essential for the proper folding and function of proteins. This property makes it a potential candidate for the treatment of various diseases related to protein misfolding, such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.
Used in Research and Diagnostics:
As a lectin inhibitor, CHITOBIOSE DIHYDROCHLORIDE is used in research and diagnostics to study the interactions between lectins and carbohydrates. This application is crucial for understanding the role of lectins in various biological processes, such as cell adhesion, cell signaling, and immune response.
Used in Enzyme Assays:
CHITOBIOSE DIHYDROCHLORIDE serves as a substrate for lysozyme, an enzyme that breaks down the cell walls of bacteria. This property makes it a valuable tool in enzyme assays, where it can be used to measure the activity of lysozyme and study its role in the immune system and other biological processes.
Used in Food Industry:
In the food industry, CHITOBIOSE DIHYDROCHLORIDE can be used as a natural preservative due to its ability to inhibit the growth of certain bacteria. This application can help extend the shelf life of perishable food products and maintain their quality.
Used in Cosmetics and Personal Care:
CHITOBIOSE DIHYDROCHLORIDE can be used in the cosmetics and personal care industry for its moisturizing and film-forming properties. It can be incorporated into skincare products, hair care products, and other personal care formulations to provide hydration and improve the overall texture and appearance of the skin and hair.
Used in Agriculture:
In agriculture, CHITOBIOSE DIHYDROCHLORIDE can be used as a natural pesticide to control the growth of harmful fungi and bacteria. Its antimicrobial properties can help protect crops from diseases and improve their overall health and yield.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 577-76-4 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 5,7 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 577-76:
(5*5)+(4*7)+(3*7)+(2*7)+(1*6)=94
94 % 10 = 4
So 577-76-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Enzymatic production of fully deacetylated chitooligosaccharides and their neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory properties

Santos-Moriano,Fernandez-Arrojo,Mengibar,Belmonte-Reche,Pe?alver,Acosta,Ballesteros,Morales,Kidibule,Fernandez-Lobato,Plou, Francisco J.

, p. 57 - 67 (2017/09/30)

Among several commercial enzymes screened for chitosanolytic activity, Neutrase 0.8L (a protease from Bacillus amyloliquefaciens) was selected in order to obtain a product enriched in deacetylated chitooligosaccharides (COS). The hydrolysis of different chitosans with this enzyme was followed by size exclusion chromatography (SEC-ELSD), mass spectrometry (ESI-Q-TOF), and high-performance anion-exchange chromatography with pulsed amperometric detection (HPAEC-PAD). Neutrase 0.8L converted 10?g/L of various chitosans into mostly deacetylated oligosaccharides, yielding approximately 2.5?g/L of chitobiose, 4.5?g/L of chitotriose, and 3?g/L of chitotetraose. We found out that the neutral protease was not responsible for the chitosanolytic activity in the extract, while it could participate in the deacetylating process. The synthesized COS were tested in vitro for their neuroprotective (toward human SH-S5Y5 neurons) and anti-inflammatory (in RAW macrophages) activities, and compared with other functional ingredients, namely fructooligosaccharides.
