5850-16-8 Usage
Description
Acid Brown 14 is an organic dye that is also considered a water pollutant. It is characterized by its red light brown color and is soluble in water, displaying an orange brown hue, and slightly soluble in ethanol, showing a yellow brown color. When strong sulfuric acid is added to its water solution, the color deepens to red, and upon dilution, it turns yellow brown. The addition of strong hydrochloric acid to its water solution results in a yellow brown color, while the addition of a thick sodium hydroxide solution yields a red wine color.
Uses
Used in Textile Industry:
Acid Brown 14 is used as a dye for nylon and wool fabrics. Its ability to produce vibrant colors and its solubility in water make it a suitable choice for dyeing these types of fabrics.
Used in Leather Industry:
In addition to its use in the textile industry, Acid Brown 14 can also be used for leather coloring. Its colorfastness properties, such as light fastness, soaping fastness, perspiration fastness, oxygen bleaching, and fastness to seawater, make it a reliable option for leather products.
Standard:
The colorfastness properties of Acid Brown 14 are measured using the ISO and AATCC standards. According to these standards, the dye exhibits the following ratings:
Light Fastness: ISO 3, AATCC 4
Soaping Fastness: ISO 3, AATCC 3
Perspiration Fastness: ISO 4-5, AATCC 3
Oxygen Bleaching: ISO 4, AATCC 1
Fastness to Seawater: ISO 3, AATCC 1-2
These ratings indicate the dye's performance in various conditions, ensuring its suitability for different applications in the textile and leather industries.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 5850-16-8 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 5,8,5 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 5850-16:
(6*5)+(5*8)+(4*5)+(3*0)+(2*1)+(1*6)=98
98 % 10 = 8
So 5850-16-8 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
