59-32-5 Usage
Description
Chloropyramine, also known as Suprastin, Chlortripelenamine, and Synopen, is an antihistamine medication that belongs to the class of piperazine ethanamine derivatives. It is effective in blocking the action of histamine, a substance released by the body during an allergic reaction, which helps in providing relief from various allergic conditions.
Uses
Used in Allergy Treatment:
Chloropyramine is used as an antihistamine for allergic dermatosis, allergic rhinitis, and conjunctivitis. It helps in alleviating symptoms such as itching, redness, and swelling associated with these conditions by inhibiting the action of histamine.
Used in Drug-Induced Allergies:
Chloropyramine is utilized as a treatment for drug-induced allergies, where it helps in reducing the severity of allergic reactions caused by certain medications.
Used in Respiratory Conditions:
Chloropyramine is used in the beginning stages of bronchial asthma, where it aids in reducing inflammation and constriction of the airways, thus improving breathing.
Used in Skin Conditions:
Chloropyramine is employed as a treatment for eczema and neurodermatitis, where it helps in reducing inflammation, itching, and redness associated with these skin conditions.
Used in Contact Dermatitis and Toxicodermia:
Chloropyramine is used as a therapeutic agent for contact dermatitis and toxicodermia, where it assists in mitigating the symptoms of skin irritation and inflammation caused by exposure to allergens or toxic substances.
Used for Sedative Effects:
Chloropyramine also exhibits sedative effects, making it useful in providing relief from anxiety and promoting relaxation in certain situations.
Synthesis
Chloropyramine, N-(4-chlorobenzyl)-N′,N′-dimethyl-N-2-pyridylethylenediamine
(16.1.9), is synthesized in a somewhat different manner, which is by reacting
2-brompyridine with N-(4-chlorobenzyl)-N′,N′-dimethylethylenediamine (16.1.8).
N-(4-Chlorobenzyl)-N′,N′-dimethylethylenediamine (16.1.8), in turn, is synthesized by
condensation of 4-chlorobenzaldehyde c N,N-dimethylethylenediamine with subsequent
reduction of the imine group.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 59-32-5 includes 5 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 2 digits, 5 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 59-32:
(4*5)+(3*9)+(2*3)+(1*2)=55
55 % 10 = 5
So 59-32-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
