6054-99-5 Usage
Description
Mordant Yellow 10 is a monoazo dye characterized by its deep green light yellow color and deep yellow powder form. It is soluble in water, resulting in a yellow color, and is hardly soluble in Cellosolve, ethanol, and chloroform. It is insoluble in other organic solvents. When mixed with concentrated sulfuric acid, it turns red light yellow, and upon dilution, it remains yellow with the formation of a precipitate. In concentrated nitric acid, it forms a yellow solution. Its aqueous solution turns yellow when mixed with concentrated hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide. The dyeing process with copper ions results in a slightly darker color and reduced lustre.
Uses
Used in Textile Industry:
Mordant Yellow 10 is used as a dye for wool fabrics, providing excellent color and fastness properties. It is also suitable for silk, nylon post-mordant dyeing, leather, and fur dyeing. The dye can be used in combination with other media dye spells and is compatible with various fiber types for bath dyeing. It can also be applied to wool that has undergone chromic acetate pretreatment or on silk dyeing.
Used in Analytical Chemistry:
Mordant Yellow 10 serves as an organic reagent for the spectrometric determination of iron(III) and is also utilized in the study of other metal complexations.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 6054-99-5 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 6,0,5 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 6054-99:
(6*6)+(5*0)+(4*5)+(3*4)+(2*9)+(1*9)=95
95 % 10 = 5
So 6054-99-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
