6120-31-6 Usage
General Description
5,6-Dichlorobenzo(1,3)dioxole, also known as Dichlone, is an organic chemical compound that is commonly used as a fungicide. The compound belongs to the class of organochlorides and features a benzene core with two chlorine atoms and a 1,3-dioxole ring attached to the benzene ring. 5,6-DICHLOROBENZO(1,3)DIOXOLE is widely used in agriculture to control a broad spectrum of fungal diseases. It is highly toxic to fishes and is sensitizing to skin. It's commonly used for vegetable crops, field crops, fruits and nuts, and ornamentals. The compound may decompose upon exposure to light and can pose significant risks to the environment due to its moderate persistence and bioaccumulation potential. It was once classified as a possible human carcinogen but isn't considered a carcinogen in the latest reviews.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 6120-31-6 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 6,1,2 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 6120-31:
(6*6)+(5*1)+(4*2)+(3*0)+(2*3)+(1*1)=56
56 % 10 = 6
So 6120-31-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Halomonochloride compounds (ClCl, BrCl, ICl) generated in situ from N-halosuccinimide and catalytic chlorotrimethylsilane (TMSCl, 0.1 equiv) can efficiently halogenate aromatic compounds to give halogenated products in good to excellent yields and selectivities. The reaction can be carried out at room temperature or at lower temperatures, requires only one hour, is practical to apply to a wide range of substrates, and provides a simple access to a variety of haloarene compounds.
