Usage

General Description

3-[[(3-chloro-4-fluorophenyl)sulfonyl]amino]propanoic acid, also known as Sulprostone, is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C9H10ClNO4S. It is an analogue of prostaglandin E2 and is used as a synthetic prostaglandin E2 analogue. The compound has been found to exhibit a variety of pharmacological activities, including anti-inflammatory and vasodilatory effects. It is commonly used in the treatment of gynecological disorders such as dysmenorrhea and menorrhagia, as well as for the induction of labor and abortion. Sulprostone acts by binding to specific prostaglandin receptors, leading to smooth muscle relaxation, cervical ripening, and uterine contractions.
