General Description
2-Nitro-p-toluenesulfonic acid is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C7H7NO6S. It is a nitroaromatic compound that is commonly used as a reagent in organic synthesis and as a pharmaceutical intermediate. It is a white to light yellow crystalline powder with a strong odor. 2-Nitro-p-toluenesulfonic acid is highly soluble in water and soluble in alcohol, acetone, and ether. It is a corrosive substance and can cause irritation to the skin, eyes, and respiratory system upon contact. This chemical is commonly used in the production of dyes, pigments, and pharmaceuticals, as well as in various organic synthesis reactions.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 65542-35-0 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 6,5,5,4 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 65542-35:
(7*6)+(6*5)+(5*5)+(4*4)+(3*2)+(2*3)+(1*5)=130
130 % 10 = 0
So 65542-35-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Synthesis of reference substances for highly polar metabolites of nitroaromatic compounds

Transformation processes of nitroaromatic compounds (NAC) lead to polar and highly hydrophilic metabolites. For the unequivocal identification of proposed metabolites reference substances are needed. Since most of them are not commercially available, their synthesis was done in our group. In many cases no satisfying synthesis schemes were found in the literature. In this communication, we therefore describe the preparation, structural elucidation and separation of 17 compounds. Many of the newly synthesized analytes were found in various water samples from a former ammunition plant.
