General Description
DI-N-BUTYLBIS(1-THIOGLYCEROL)TIN is a chemical compound that is commonly used as a stabilizer and catalyst in various industrial applications. It is a tin-based organic compound with the chemical formula C16H36O6S2Sn. DI-N-BUTYLBIS(1-THIOGLYCEROL)TIN is mainly used as a heat stabilizer in the production of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and other plastic products. It is also used as an anti-corrosive agent in metal coatings and as a catalyst in various chemical reactions. DI-N-BUTYLBIS(1-THIOGLYCEROL)TIN is known for its ability to improve the thermal stability and durability of materials, making it a valuable addition to many industrial processes. However, it is important to handle this compound with care as it can be toxic to aquatic organisms and may cause skin and eye irritation in humans.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 68298-38-4 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 6,8,2,9 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 68298-38:
(7*6)+(6*8)+(5*2)+(4*9)+(3*8)+(2*3)+(1*8)=174
174 % 10 = 4
So 68298-38-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Hydroxyl-containing organotin catalysts for making polyurethanes
-
, (2008/06/13)
Useful as catalysts for the reaction of a polyisocyanate or a partially blocked polyisocyanate with a hydroxyl-containing compound are hydroxyl-containing organotins such as, for example, compounds of formulas I-III STR1 where R is a C1 -C8 alkyl or an aryl group; R1 is a C2 -C22 divalent hydrocarbyl group which may contain a hydroxyl substituent; X is a linking group which may be --O--, --S-- or --O2 C--; Y is a hydroxyl-containing C3 -C5 alkylene group; Y' is a C1 -C9 divalent hydrocarbyl group; Z is divalent organic linking group; and n is 0 or 1. Suitable hydroxyl-containing organotin compounds would also include polymeric organotin compounds prepared by the reaction of a diorganotin oxide or diorganotin dichloride with HSCH2 CH(OH)CH2 XH, preferably in a 1:0.5-1 molar ratio, where X is --S-- or --O--.
