Oxidation of Chromium(III) Porphyrins to their ?-Radical Cations or to Oxochromium (IV) Porphyrins
Guldi, Dirk M.,Neta, Pedatsur,Hambright, Peter
, p. 2013 - 2020 (1992)
One-electron oxidation of several chromium(III) porphyrins has been studied by steady-state and pulse radiolysis techniques under different conditions. Two types of products are observed: those exhibiting intense broad absorptions at λ >/= 600 nm, ascribed
E.S.R. Evidence for Chromium(V) Porphyrinates
Groves, John T.,Haushalter, Robert C.
, p. 1165 - 1166 (2007/10/02)
The oxidation of chloro-5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrinatochromium(III) with iodosylbenzene proceeds with oxygen transfer to chromium and two-electron oxidation of the metal to give a chromium(V) porphyrinate complex; the e.s.r. spectra of this complex, its 17O-derivative, and its t-butylamine adduct show strong electron hyperfine interactions with the metal nucleus and the metal ligands and indicate a metal-centred radical as expected for chromium(V).
