An x-ray structural study of nitrato-(m-aminobenzoato)lead (II) has been carried out (diffractometer, λMoKα, 1123 reflections, heavy-atom method, anisotropic refinement, R = 0.096).The crystals are monoclinic, a = 13.912(3), b = 5.519(1), c = 11.932(4) Angstroem, β = 99.176(2) deg, dcalc = 2.98 g/cm3, V = 904.344 Angstroem3, Z = 4, M = 405.35, space group P21/n.The Pb atom is surrounded by four oxygen atoms from the COO- groups of three organic ligands (Pb-O 2.48(3), 2.45(3), 2.84(1), 2.85(2) Angstroem), which also act as bridges between three Pb atoms, related by 21 symmetry. The coordination number of Pb is brought up to nine by four oxygen atoms from two NO3- anions (Pb-O 2.79(3), 2.94(2), 2.94(2), 2.92(2) Angstroem, and one nitrogen atom of an amino group (Pb-N 2.57(2) Angstroem).
