Description

YM155 is a novel small molecule survivin suppressant that selectively targets and inhibits the expression of survivin, a member of the inhibitor of apoptosis proteins (IAP) family. It has the ability to induce apoptosis in human tumor cell lines at low concentrations and has shown potential in overcoming drug resistance and inducing DNA damage in certain cancer types.

Uses

Used in Oncology:
YM155 is used as a potent IAP inhibitor for survivin with an IC50 of 0.54 nM. It is particularly effective in suppressing the expression of survivin and inducing apoptosis in PC-3 and PPC-1 human hormone-refractory prostate cancer (HRPC) cell lines. This makes YM155 a promising candidate for the development of anticancer therapies targeting survivin-dependent tumors.
Used in Overcoming Drug Resistance:
YM155 has demonstrated the ability to overcome erlotinib resistance in EGFR mutation-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This suggests that YM155 could be a valuable component in combination therapies to enhance the effectiveness of existing treatments and overcome resistance in lung cancer patients.
Used in Inducing DNA Damage and Autophagy-Dependent Cell Death:
YM155 has been shown to induce DNA damage and autophagy-dependent cell death in certain cancer cell lines, such as adenoid cystic carcinoma cells. This highlights its potential in targeting cancer cells through multiple mechanisms, increasing the chances of effective treatment and reducing the likelihood of resistance development.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 781661-94-7 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 7,8,1,6,6 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 781661-94:
(8*7)+(7*8)+(6*1)+(5*6)+(4*6)+(3*1)+(2*9)+(1*4)=197
197 % 10 = 7
So 781661-94-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
