Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) Complexes of Triazoline Thiones

Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes of (a) 4-amino-3-(o-hydroxyphenyl)-1,2,4-triazoline-5-thione (HPTT) and (b) 3-(o-hydroxyphenyl)-4-(o-hydroxybenzylidene)-1,2,4-triazoline-5-thione (HO-HBTT) of the types , , Cu(PTT)2>, and have been synthesised and characterised on the basis of elemental analyses, infrared and electronic spectral and magnetic susceptibility data.The Mn(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes are octahedral, while Cu(II) complexes have square-planar stereochemistry.Various ligand field (10 Dq) and nephelauxetic parameters (B, C and β), calculated for Mn(II) and Co(II) complexes, are consistent with an octahedral stereochemistry.
