Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 80-24-0 includes 5 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 2 digits, 8 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 80-24:
(4*8)+(3*0)+(2*2)+(1*4)=40
40 % 10 = 0
So 80-24-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Process for the production of a dihydroxybenzene and dicarbinol from diisopropylbenzene
-
Example 2, (2008/06/13)
Improved methods for the simultaneous production of dihydroxybenzene and dicarbinol from diisopropylbenzene are provided. These methods provide for continuous and simultaneous production of diisopropylbenzene dihydroperoxide (DHP) and diisopropylbenzene hydroxyhydroperoxide (HHP) using Karr Column extractors operated in series. A very high purity DHP-containing solution, the precursor to the dihydroxybenzene, can be produced according to the reported methods. A safe and efficient method for producing dicarbinol from HHP is also disclosed.
Oxidation of m-diisopropylbenzene in the presence of chelate compounds of copper with amino acids

, p. 1084 - 1086 (2007/10/02)
In the oxidation of m-diisopropylbenzene to hydroperoxides chelate compounds of copper with amino acids can play the role of catalyst or inhibitor, depending on the structure of the ligand. The copper salts of glycine, alanine, phenylalanine, threonine, and tryptophan reduce the induction period and increase the oxidation rate of diisopropylbenzene, while the copper salts of lysine, arginine, and tyrosine inhibit the process.
