82-29-1 Usage
Description
1,2,6-trihydroxyanthracene-9,10-dione is a dark red compound that exhibits chromium-like properties. It is soluble in hot ethanol and Cellosolve, slightly soluble in acetone, cold ethanol, benzene, and chloroform, and insoluble in stout solvent. When treated with concentrated sulfuric acid, it turns dark brown and upon dilution, it precipitates as a yellow-orange color.
Uses
Used in Textile Industry:
1,2,6-trihydroxyanthracene-9,10-dione is used as a dye for textiles due to its dark red color and solubility properties. It is particularly useful for coloring fabrics that require high ironing, light, and perspiration fastness, as well as resistance to fulling, soaping, water, alkali, and acid treatments.
Used in Quality Testing:
1,2,6-trihydroxyanthracene-9,10-dione is used in quality testing for textiles to evaluate their performance under various conditions. The AATCC (American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists) standards provide guidelines for testing the fastness of dyes, including 1,2,6-trihydroxyanthracene-9,10-dione, to ensure that textiles maintain their color and quality over time.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 82-29-1 includes 5 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 2 digits, 8 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 82-29:
(4*8)+(3*2)+(2*2)+(1*9)=51
51 % 10 = 1
So 82-29-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
