831-52-7 Usage
Chemical Properties
Dark red prescake
Uses
Manufacture of dye intermediates, organic syn-
thesis.
General Description
A yellow solid. Toxic by inhalation and skin absorption. Primary hazard is fire with either a minor blast or projection hazard or both, but no mass explosion hazard. May explode under prolonged exposure to heat.
Reactivity Profile
Sodium picramate can react vigorously with reducing agents, including hydrides, sulfides and nitrides, leading to a detonation. Emits toxic fumes when heated to decomposition.
Hazard
Dangerous fire and explosion hazard when
dry. Toxic by ingestion and skin absorption.
Health Hazard
Fire may produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases.
Fire Hazard
MAY EXPLODE AND THROW FRAGMENTS 1600 meters (1 MILE) OR MORE IF FIRE REACHES CARGO.
Flammability and Explosibility
Notclassified
Safety Profile
Poison by ingestion. A
flammable solid and explosive. When heated
to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of
NOx and Na2O. See also PICRAMIC
ACID.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 831-52-7 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 8,3 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 831-52:
(5*8)+(4*3)+(3*1)+(2*5)+(1*2)=67
67 % 10 = 7
So 831-52-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
