9068-38-6 Usage

Description

REVERSE TRANSCRIPTASE, M-MLV, RNASEH+ is a group of enzymes that play a crucial role in the synthesis of complementary DNA (cDNA) from RNA templates. M-MLV Reverse Transcriptase is an enzyme derived from the Moloney Murine Leukemia Virus, which is isolated from E. coli expressing a portion of the pol gene of M-MLV on a plasmid. It is a DNA polymerase that uses single-stranded RNA, DNA, or an RNA-DNA hybrid (using a primer) to synthesize a complementary DNA strand. RNASEH+ is an enzyme possessed by retroviruses that allows transcription of DNA from an RNA template. The discovery of this enzyme challenged the widely held central dogma, which stated that the information flow in nature was always from DNA to RNA.

Purification Methods

This enzyme produces the complementary DNA from the RNA (as template). These are purified by solubilising the virus with non-ionic detergents. Lysed virions are adsorbed on DEAE-cellulose or DEAE-Sephadex columns, and the enzymes are eluted with a salt gradient, then chromatographed on a phosphocellulose column and fractions with enzyme activity are eluted in a salt gradient. They are also purified from other viral proteins by affinity chromatography on a pyran-Sepharose column. Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 9068-38-6 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 9,0,6 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 9068-38:
(6*9)+(5*0)+(4*6)+(3*8)+(2*3)+(1*8)=116
116 % 10 = 6
So 9068-38-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
