Preparation: this chemical can be prepared by chloromethyl-oxirane and prop-2-yn-1-ol at the ambient temperature. This reaction will need reagent 50 percent aq. NaOH and tert-butyl ammonium hydrogen sulphate with the reaction time of 3 hours. The yield is about 90%.

Oxirane,2-[(2-propyn-1-yloxy)methyl]- can be prepared by chloromethyl-oxirane and prop-2-yn-1-ol at the ambient temperature

Uses of Oxirane,2-[(2-propyn-1-yloxy)methyl]-: it can be used to produce 2-prop-2-ynyloxymethyl-thiirane at the temperature of 0 °C. It will need reagent thiourea and solvent methanol with the reaction time of 16 hours. The yield is about 50%.
