102129-65-7 Usage

Description

ADENOSINE-5'-DIPHOSPHOGLUCOSE (ADPG) is an immediate precursor used in the biosynthesis of storage and structural polysaccharides in plants, green algae, and cyanobacteria. It is generated within plastids and plays a crucial role in the production of amylose, amylopectins, starch, and other polysaccharides by amylose synthases or starch synthases.

Uses

Used in Enzymatic Activity Measurement:
ADENOSINE-5'-DIPHOSPHOGLUCOSE disodium salt is used as a component of the reaction mixture to measure the enzymatic activity of adenosine-5'-diphosphate (ADP)-glucose pyrophosphorylase (AGPase), an enzyme involved in the synthesis of ADPG.
Used as a Glucose Transferase Substrate:
ADENOSINE-5'-DIPHOSPHOGLUCOSE serves as a substrate for glucose transferase enzymes, which catalyze the transfer of glucose moieties to various acceptor molecules, playing a vital role in the synthesis of complex carbohydrates and glycoconjugates.
Used in the Synthesis of Starch:
ADENOSINE-5'-DIPHOSPHOGLUCOSE is used for the synthesis of starch, a major storage polysaccharide in plants, which serves as an energy reserve and structural component in various plant tissues.
Used in the Production of Amylose and Amylopectins:
ADENOSINE-5'-DIPHOSPHOGLUCOSE is utilized by amylose synthases or starch synthases in plastids for the production of amylose and amylopectins, which are essential components of starch and have significant implications in the food, pharmaceutical, and industrial sectors.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Adenosine-5′-diphosphoglucose (ADP-Glucose) is a substrate widely used as a glucose donor. It is a substrate starch synthase (EC 2.4.1.21) in starch synthesis. ADP-glucose is a substrate for α-1,4-glucan-protein synthase (ADP-forming) (EC 2.4.1.113), ADP-glucose pyrophosphorylases and many glucosyltransferases.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 102129-65-7 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,0,2,1,2 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 6 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 102129-65:
(8*1)+(7*0)+(6*2)+(5*1)+(4*2)+(3*9)+(2*6)+(1*5)=77
77 % 10 = 7
So 102129-65-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
