Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 10544-96-4 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,0,5,4 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 10544-96:
(7*1)+(6*0)+(5*5)+(4*4)+(3*4)+(2*9)+(1*6)=84
84 % 10 = 4
So 10544-96-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

OXYDATION ELECTROCHIMIQUE D'ALCANES ET D'ALCENES DANS LE MONOHYDRATE DE L'ACIDE TRIFLUOROMETHANE SULFONIQUE

Carre, B.,Fabre, P. L.,Devynck, J.

, p. 255 - 260 (2007/10/02)

The acidity range of triflic acid monohydrate was determined using the electrochemical function Ro(H) = -12.It was found to be intermediate between that of aqueous acid media and superacids. In this solvent, alkanes oxidise into R+ carbenium ions by a bielectron exchange; the electrochemical system is slow and, as for aqueous media, the diffusion wave takes place after the alkane adsorption on the electrode.Alkenes are first protonated into R+ ions which then react on the solvent; R+ is disproportionated into alkane and carbonyl. The electrochemical oxidation observed corresponds to that of the ensuing alkane.
