Some dioxolothiazoloquinazolin-5-ones (7) with aryl substituents at position-1 have been synthesised by the condensation of methyl 6-aminopiperonylate hydrochloride (1a) with α-thiocyanoketones (2).Also, 1,2-dihydro-5H-dioxolothioxoloquinazolin-5-one (16) has been synthesised by the condensation of methyl 6-aminopiperonylate hydrobromide (1b) with β-bromoethylthiocyanate (11), or by the condensation of methyl 6-thiocyanatoaminopiperonylate (9) with 1,2-dibromoethane (10).The structure (16) has been supported by PMR data and by prepar ing its linear isomer, 7,8-dihydro-10H-dioxolothiazoloquinazolin-10-one (17) unambiguously by the condensation of methyl 6-aminopiperonylate (1) with 2-bromothiazoline hydrobromide (19).
