Description
Acemannan is a complex water-soluble polymanno-galacto-acetate isolated from Aloe vera by alcohol precipitation and purified by filtration to limit the size of the polysaccharide polymers. It possesses immunostimulatory activity through the activation of monocytes and macrophages, triggering enhanced secretion of cytokines such as interferon, interleukins, TNF-alpha, GM-CSF, and some prostaglandins.
Uses
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
Acemannan is used as an immunomodulator for its ability to activate monocytes and macrophages, enhancing the secretion of cytokines and promoting a stronger immune response.
Used in Antiviral Applications:
Acemannan is used as an antiviral agent, with its immunostimulatory properties potentially helping to combat viral infections.
Used in Wound Healing:
Acemannan is used as a wound healing agent for the care of ulcers, burns, and post-surgical incisions, due to its ability to promote tissue repair and regeneration.
Used in Aloe Vera Products:
Acemannan is used in a variety of Aloe Vera products, such as Carraklenz Wound & Skin Cleanser, Carrisyn, and Snow & Sun Sports Gel, for its beneficial properties in promoting skin health and immune function.
Acemannan is currently undergoing clinical trials for the treatment of AIDS, further exploring its potential as an immunomodulator and antiviral agent.

Veterinary Drugs and Treatments
Veterinary acemannan injection is labeled for use in dogs or cats as
an aid in the treatment (i.e., surgery) and clinical management of
fibrosarcoma. It has been used to treat FeLV, FIV, and FIP infections
in cats but clinical efficacy has not been adequately proven by controlled
clinical studies. It reportedly has been used in horses, but no
specific information on this was located.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 110042-95-0 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,1,0,0,4 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 110042-95:
(8*1)+(7*1)+(6*0)+(5*0)+(4*4)+(3*2)+(2*9)+(1*5)=60
60 % 10 = 0
So 110042-95-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
