Aryl(α-polyfluoroalkylbenzyl) chlorophosphates are formed upon catalytic phosphorylation of α-polyfluoroalyklbenzyl alcohols with excess aryl dichlorophosphates.Reaction stereochemistry is under thermodynamic control; the product aryl(α-polyfluoroalkylbenzyl) chlorophosphates consist of equilibrium mixtures of diastereomers with a statistical (1:1) ratio of components.Diastereomeric interconversion of aryl(α-poylfluoroalkylbenzyl) chlorophosphates occur both in the melt (or in solution) as well as in the crystalline state, but in opposite direction.
