The reaction of the alkyl-substituted ketenimines N-(2,2-diphenylvinylidene)methylamine and N-(2-methyl-1-propenylidene)aniline with dichlorocarbene takes place more quickly than in the case of triphenylketenimine and with the intermediate formation of ketenimine ylides, which are converted under the reaction conditions into the substituted amides of tri- and dichloroacetic acids or carbamoyl chlorides. The reactions of the ketenimine ylides with dipolarophiles gave pyrrole derivatives.
