Usage

Description

Direct Red 89 is a yellow to orange-brown powder that is soluble in water, resulting in a purple solution. It is a strong sulfuric acid dye that produces a purple solution, which turns red when diluted and precipitates. The dye solution turns red upon the addition of hydrochloric acid, and the same color is maintained when a sodium hydroxide solution is added. Direct Red 89 exhibits slight color change upon contact with copper ions and a dark color when it meets iron ions.
