Big and small: Chemically modifying platinum with calix[4]arene yields a highly stable anode catalyst that effectively suppresses the oxidation reduction reaction without altering the maximum activity for the hydrogen oxidation reaction (see picture, Ptblue, Cgray, Ored, Syellow).
