Description
Zinostatinstimalamer, also known as SMANCS, is a novel antineoplastic polymeric agent that was launched in Japan for the treatment of hepatoma. It is synthesized by chemically conjugating the synthetic inert poly(styrene-maleic acid) (SMA) and neocarzinostatin (NCS), a proteinaceous antitumor agent produced by Streptomyces carzinostaticus. SMANCS retains the properties of NCS for inhibiting DNA synthesis in the cell by direct DNA strand scission and uniquely augments the host defense system by inducing interferon γ and activating macrophages. Compared to NCS, SMANCS has significantly improved in vitro and in vivo stability, is more effective in reducing tumor size and preventing the development of new tumors, has decreased toxic side effects, and has an extended plasma half-life.
Uses
Used in Oncology:
Zinostatinstimalamer is used as an antineoplastic agent for the treatment of hepatoma. It is effective in reducing tumor size and preventing the development of new tumors in patients with hepatoma. In clinical trials, tumor size reductions have been obtained in 90% of patients with hepatoma, and a dose of 0.7 mg/m2 induced complete or almost complete necrosis of the tumor without affecting noncancerous liver tissue or the gallbladder.
Used in Immunotherapy:
Zinostatinstimalamer is used as an immunotherapeutic agent for enhancing the host defense system. It induces interferon γ and activates macrophages, which can help improve the body's immune response against cancer cells.
Used in Drug Development:
Zinostatinstimalamer serves as a model for the development of new antineoplastic agents that combine the properties of DNA-damaging agents with immunostimulatory effects. Its unique mechanism of action and improved stability compared to its parent compound, NCS, make it a promising candidate for further research and development in the field of cancer treatment.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 123760-07-6 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,2,3,7,6 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 123760-07:
(8*1)+(7*2)+(6*3)+(5*7)+(4*6)+(3*0)+(2*0)+(1*7)=106
106 % 10 = 6
So 123760-07-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
