ISOACRIDONES AND THEIR DERIVATIVES. I. SALTS OF 2-NITRO-10-METHYL-3-ACRIDONE
Khorti, A. G.
, p. 1781 - 1785 (2007/10/02)
When the isomeric 4-nitro-5-methoxydiphenylamine-2-carboxylic and 3'-methoxy-4'-nitrodiphenylamine-2-carboxylic acids are treated with condensing agents only the former closes to 2-nitro-3-methoxy-9-chloroacridine.This compound is converted as a result of dehalogenation, subsequent methylation at the nitrogen in the ring, and demethylation of the methoxy group into 2-nitro-10-methyl-3-acridone, which was isolated in the form of salts. The chlorine in 2-nitro-3-chloro-9-acridine is not substituted in reaction with sodium methoxide.
