Description
Sulphur Brown 5 is a dark brown to black gray powder that is partially soluble in water and moderately soluble in sodium sulfide solution, displaying a red light brown color. It exhibits a yellow brown color in alkaline insurance powder solution, which can be restored to its original color and lustre upon oxidation. When exposed to sodium hypochlorite solution, its color almost completely fades, but it darkens when concentrated sulfuric acid is added.
Uses
Used in Textile Industry:
Sulphur Brown 5 is used as a dye for textiles due to its ability to produce a range of brown shades. Its moderate to severe resistance to acid and alkali, as well as its light fastness, make it a suitable choice for染色 (dyeing) and 皂煮 (soaping) processes in the textile industry.
Used in Leather Industry:
In the leather industry, Sulphur Brown 5 is used as a dye for 鞣制 (tanning) and 鞣酸 (tannic acid) processes, thanks to its ability to provide a dark brown color and its resistance to various chemical treatments.
Used in Paper Industry:
Sulphur Brown 5 is also utilized in the paper industry as a dye for coloring paper products, taking advantage of its colorfastness properties and its ability to withstand various chemical processes.
Standard:
The standard for Sulphur Brown 5 includes the following ratings for its properties:
Acid Resistance: ISO 3-4
Alkali Resistance: ISO 3-4
Light Fastness: ISO 4
Fulling: ISO 3-4
Persperation Fastness: ISO 4
Soaping: ISO 3
These ratings indicate the level of resistance and performance of Sulphur Brown 5 in various industrial applications.
Preparation
(1) 4-(2,4-Dinitrophenylamino)phenol and Sodium hydroxide and water is heated to 105 ℃, then add glucose, Sodium sulfide, sulphur and a small amount of Copper sulfate monohydrate, short time boiling, in 20 hours heating to 260 ~ 270 ℃ and roasting 6 hours; (2) (1) the improvement and Sodium hydroxide solution after boiling, with acid precipitation generated degradation products and filtering, will the paste which add to the above Sodium polysulfide solution. Molten material of save glucose also can get similar dye. Further change the above operation process is to use ?4-(2,4-Dinitrophenylamino)phenol?(by 2-Aminophenol and 1-Chloro-2,4-dinitrobenzene obtained) instead of 4-(2,4-Dinitrophenylamino)phenol.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 1327-00-0 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 1,3,2 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1327-00:
(6*1)+(5*3)+(4*2)+(3*7)+(2*0)+(1*0)=50
50 % 10 = 0
So 1327-00-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
