ESR Studies of Nitroxide Radicals Formed in the Low Temperature Photolysis of N-Nitrosamines
Joshi, Avinash,Yang, George C.
, p. 138 - 143 (1981)
Various N-nitrosamines were photolyzed in toluene solution in the temperature range -100 edg C to -30 deg C to yield dialkyl nitroxides. The nitrosamines studied were N-nitrosodimethylamine, N-nitrosodiethylamine, N-nitrosodipropylamine, N-nitrosodibutylamine and N-nitrosodicyclohexylamine.Subsequent nitroxide side products were also detected by ESR, and a mechanism for their formation is proposed.Temperature dependent hyperfine couplings of the methylene protons were observed for a few radicals of the type R1-CH2-NO-R2 radicals.
SPIN TRAPPING REACTIONS WITH NITRIC OXYDES, I. DIALKYL NITROXYDES
Gyoer, Miklos,Rockenbauer, Antal,Tuedoes, Ferenc
, p. 3759 - 3762 (2007/10/02)
Dialkyl-nitroxide radicals formed from nitric oxyde, wich trapped two alkyl radicals in consecutive steps, have been detected by Electron Spin Resonance spectroscopy. The structure of radicals was found independent of the way of alkyl radical generation.Stereoselectivity of radical trapping was observed for secondary alkyl radicals with chiral carbons.
