Description
Gadobutrol is a gadolinium-based MRI contrast agent (GBCA) that enhances the visualization of internal body structures during magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans. It is designed to improve the clarity and detail of the images, allowing for more accurate diagnoses and assessments of various medical conditions.
Uses
Used in Medical Imaging:
Gadobutrol is used as an MRI contrast agent for improving the image quality and diagnostic accuracy of MRI scans. It helps in visualizing the brain and other internal body structures more clearly, which is particularly useful for detecting and diagnosing various medical conditions, such as tumors, inflammation, and vascular disorders.
Used in Diagnostic Procedures:
Gadobutrol injection is used in diagnostic procedures to provide a clearer picture of the body's internal structures during an MRI scan. This enhanced visualization assists doctors in making more informed decisions about the patient's condition and the appropriate course of treatment.
Mechanism of action
In the central nervous system, Gadobutrol works by highlighting any areas with disrupted blood brain barrier (BBB) and/or abnormal vascularity. In breast tissue, Gadobutrol exposes the presence and extent of malignant breast disease.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 138071-82-6 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,3,8,0,7 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 138071-82:
(8*1)+(7*3)+(6*8)+(5*0)+(4*7)+(3*1)+(2*8)+(1*2)=126
126 % 10 = 6
So 138071-82-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
