Usage

General Description

Sulfur difluoride is a chemical compound with the formula SF2. It is a toxic and reactive gas with a pungent odor that is primarily used in the synthesis of other sulfur fluorides. Sulfur difluoride is produced by the reaction of elemental sulfur with sulfur tetrafluoride or by the reaction of sulfur dioxide with hydrogen fluoride. It is a highly reactive compound and can react violently with water to produce toxic and corrosive hydrofluoric acid and sulfur dioxide.
