141176-92-3 Usage

Description

ALPHA1-ANTICHYMOTRYPSIN, HUMAN, also known as SERPINA3 or α-1-antichymotrypsin (ACT or AACT), is a protein that belongs to the serpin superfamily of protease inhibitors. It contains 423 amino acids and is involved in inhibiting the activity of various proteases, such as pancreatic chymotrypsin, leukocyte, cathepsin G, mast cell chymases, human glandular kallikrein 2, and kallikrein 3. Elevated expression of this protein has been observed in various types of carcinomas, including breast carcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, prostate carcinoma, and adenocarcinoma of the lung.

Uses

Used in Biomedical Research:
ALPHA1-ANTICHYMOTRYPSIN, HUMAN is used as a component in yeast extract peptone dextrose broth (YEPD) for biofilm dispersion assays. This application aids in the study of biofilm formation and dispersion, which are important processes in various medical and industrial contexts.
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
ALPHA1-ANTICHYMOTRYPSIN, HUMAN is used as a therapeutic agent for the treatment of various diseases associated with protease imbalance. Its role in inhibiting the activity of multiple proteases makes it a potential candidate for the development of drugs targeting protease-related conditions.
Used in Diagnostics:
Due to its elevated expression in various types of carcinomas, ALPHA1-ANTICHYMOTRYPSIN, HUMAN can be used as a biomarker for the detection and diagnosis of these cancers. This application can help in the early identification of cancer and guide appropriate treatment strategies.
Used in Genetic Research:
The study of the SERPINA3 gene and its association with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) can provide insights into the genetic factors contributing to the disease. This knowledge can be applied in the development of targeted therapies and personalized medicine approaches for patients with ESRD.

Biochem/physiol Actions

α1-Antichymotrypsin (α1-ACT) can block the functions of various serine proteases like chymotrypsin and cathepsin G. It serves as a potential therapeutic target of endometrial carcinoma (EC).

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 141176-92-3 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,4,1,1,7 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 141176-92:
(8*1)+(7*4)+(6*1)+(5*1)+(4*7)+(3*6)+(2*9)+(1*2)=113
113 % 10 = 3
So 141176-92-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
