Uses

1. Used in Asymmetric Catalysis:
Lanthanum isopropoxide is used as a catalyst in asymmetric catalysis for enhancing the 1,4-addition of malonate to cyclic and acyclic enones. This application is due to its ability to form a complex with an (S,S)-phenyl-linked-binaphthol, which improves the efficiency and selectivity of the reaction.
2. Used as a Co-catalyst in Catalytic Allylation of Ketoimines:
In the chemical industry, Lanthanum isopropoxide is also utilized as a co-catalyst alongside copper fluoride-triphenylphosphine in the general catalytic allylation of ketoimines. This use is attributed to its ability to facilitate the reaction and improve the overall yield of the desired product.
