Several 4-chloro-2-mercapto-5-methyl-N-(2-amino-6-R1-1,3,5-triazin-4 -yl)benzenesuplhonamides [IVa-IVh] and disulphides (VI, VII], 2-[2-(2-amino-6-R1-1,3,5-triazin-4-ylaminosulphonyl)-5-chloro-4 -methylphenylthio]alkanoic acid [VII-XI] and 4-chloro-2-mercapto-5-methyl-N-(2-amino-7,8-diR3-benzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2 -a][1,3,5]triazin-4-yl)benzenesulphonamides [XIIa-XIIb], have been synthesized as potential anti-HIV agents. The structures of these compounds have been established on the basis of elemental analysis and spectral data (IR, 1H and 13C NMR). Preliminary screening data indicated that compounds (IVa,IVd-IVh, XIIa and XIIb] exhibit moderate or fairly high anti-HIV activity. Compounds [IVc and VII-XI] proved to be inactive in the anti-HIV test. The mentioned compound (XIIb] exhibits high activity against both HIV-1 (IIIB) and HIV-2 (ROD).
