Technetium and rhenium carbonyl complexes with 1,4-benzodiazepine derivatives: X-ray crystal structure

Technetium and rhenium carbonyl complexes [M(CO)2(PPh3)2(L)] (HL = 1,4-benzodiazepine-2-ones-4-oxide and 1,4-benzodiazepine-2-thiones) were prepared and characterized by FT-IR, NMR and elemental analysis. In these complexes the ligands are coordinated through the deprotonated N(1) and C(2) = X (X = O, S) atoms. The X-ray crystal structure was determined for the complex [Tc(CO)2(PPh3)2(1,2)] (HL2 = 7-chloro-5-(2-chlorophenyl)-1,3-dihydro-2H-1,4-benzodiazepin-2-one-4-oxide). The metal ion is in an octahedral environment coordinated to two triphenylphosphines in apical positions, two cis CO groups in trans to nitrogen and oxygen atoms from the ligand to form the basal plane. The boat conformation of the seven-membered ring of the ligand is maintained in the complex.
