Description

FLASH, also known as Fluorescein Arsenical Hairpin Binder, is a fluorogenic biarsenical dye used for fluorescence labeling of proteins in living cells. It is a white to pale orange solid and is derived from the inexpensive precursor dyes fluorescein and resorufin. The FlAsH method involves labeling proteins with the membrane-permeant dye FlAsH-EDT2, which allows for the detection and analysis of protein expression and interactions within cells.

Uses

Used in Biomedical Research:
FLASH is used as a fluorescence labeling agent for the detection and analysis of protein expression and interactions in living cells. This application is particularly useful in biomedical research for studying protein dynamics, cellular processes, and the effects of various treatments on protein behavior.
Used in Drug Delivery Systems:
In the field of drug delivery, FLASH can be used as a component in the development of novel drug delivery systems. The unique properties of the dye can be exploited to improve the targeting, release, and monitoring of therapeutic agents within the body.
Used in Analytical Chemistry:
FLASH can also be employed in analytical chemistry as a tool for detecting and quantifying specific proteins or other biomolecules. Its fluorescence properties make it an ideal candidate for high-throughput screening and other analytical applications.
Used in Diagnostics:
The fluorescence labeling capabilities of FLASH can be applied in the development of diagnostic tools for various diseases and conditions. By targeting specific proteins or biomarkers associated with a particular disease, FLASH can help in the early detection and monitoring of disease progression.
Used in Pharmaceutical Development:
In the pharmaceutical industry, FLASH can be utilized for the identification and optimization of drug candidates. Its ability to label and track proteins can aid in understanding the mechanisms of action, efficacy, and potential side effects of new drugs.
Used in Environmental Monitoring:
FLASH can be employed in environmental monitoring to detect and quantify specific proteins or biomarkers associated with pollution or other environmental stressors. This can help in assessing the impact of human activities on ecosystems and developing strategies for environmental protection and remediation.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 212118-77-9 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 2,1,2,1,1 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 212118-77:
(8*2)+(7*1)+(6*2)+(5*1)+(4*1)+(3*8)+(2*7)+(1*7)=89
89 % 10 = 9
So 212118-77-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Improved photostable FRET-competent biarsenical-tetracysteine probes based on fluorinated fluoresceins

Spagnuolo, Carla C.,Vermeij, Rudolf J.,Jares-Erijman, Elizabeth A.

, p. 12040 - 12041 (2006)

We have developed fluoro-substituted versions of the biarsenical-tetracysteine label FlAsH, exhibiting significant improvements in important properties over the original fluorescein derivative. In complexes with tetracysteine targets, F2FlAsH exhibits 50 times improved photostability, lower pH sensitivity, higher absorbance and quantum yield than FlAsH, and F4FlAsH adds a new color to the palette of biarsenical dyes. The two probes also provide a new FRET pair with a larger Ro value (54 A) than any previously obtained with biarsenical dyes. Copyright
